Most Carson City homes are built on a perimeter foundation with a raised floor allowing a crawl space under the home. Carson City homes built on a slab foundation are not as common but can be found in older as well as new homes from builders. The primary advantage to a perimeter foundation is the ease of access to household systems (plumbing, ducting, cable TV wiring.) when making repairs.
